Limited Edition Brut Classic - 750ml
Philosophy
In keeping with the style we established more than thirty years ago, Chandon has captured the expression of Californa’s vineyards in Brut Classic. Made using méthode traditionnelle, this wine goes through second fermentation in the bottle and is made from the traditional Champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Our house signature style, Chandon Brut Classic consistently displays apple and pear flavors and aromas with a hint of spice that leads to a soft, dry finish. To ensure the continuity of style and quality that has made Chandon one of America’s classic sparkling wines, our Brut Classic is blended with ten to twenty percent Reserve wines from prior harvests.
Tasting Notes
Chandon’s Brut Classic is well known for its citrus spices layered over notes of almond and caramel and makes for a refreshing treat on a hot summer’s day. Talk about a showstopper, Chandon’s summer bottle is a must-have for the season!

Tasting Notes
Unlike most sparkling wines, this cuvée begins with Pinot Noir and Zinfandel still wines that have been fermented on the skins, providing the flavor and body of a still wine. It then undergoes second fermentation in the bottle, so possesses the refreshing characters of a sparkling wine. Chandon Sparkling Red excites the palate with rich and concentrated flavors of black cherry, sweet cranberry with hints of juniper berry and nutmeg. The structure of this wine helps it to pair great with more foods than traditional sparklers; bolder meats for instance.
Food Pairing
This opulent sparkling wine lends itself to richly flavored foods. Winemaker Tom Tiburzi loves this wine during the holidays with roast turkey and cranberry sauce or honey glazed smoked ham. Chandon is proud of this shining star of its portfolio, <span style="font-style: italic;">étoile</span> Tête de Cuvée. Similar to traditional Champagne houses, Chandon offers <span style="font-style: italic;">étoile</span> Tête de Cuvée to represent the best of its wines — literally the “head blend.” To craft this sparkling wine, Chandon’s winemakers blended the best grapes from the 2003 harvest and allowed the wine to age gracefully for a minimum of seven years on the lees. This aging results in a wine with rich flavors, layers of complexity and a luxuriously creamy mouthfeel. <span style="font-style: italic;">étoile</span> Tête de Cuvée is ready to enjoy upon release, but will continue to develop for years when suitably cellared. Tasting Notes
Honey, dried apricot and lightly toasted hazelnut aromas mingle with notes of citrus blossoms and lemon curd. On the palate there are distinctive honey and dried apricot flavors that broaden to reveal nectarine and candied ginger all wrapped in a texture that is defined by elegance and refined complexity.
Food Pairing
Like all sparkling wine, our Tête de Cuvée is extremely enjoyable with a range of food, from oysters and potato chips to fresh cracked crab dipped in lemon butter and eggs benedict. Chicken or trout stuffed with lemons and tarragon would make a great match during the main course of a meal as would a stir fry of mixed vegetables. |

This wine is 100% Clone 777. The grapes are grown in block 118, one of the best in our Carneros vineyard. This block is marked by its well-draining alluvial soils, which result in low-vigor vines with small berries. Domaine Chandon has been farming Carneros Pinot Noir for over 30 years. Best known as a sparkling house, we fist created still wine Pinot Noir from our 800-acre ranch in 1996 to demonstrate this grape's contribution to a sparkling blend. Over time, we have identified and developed select parcels that consistently produce the highest quality fruit specifically for a still wine program.<br /><br />L'argile, French for "the clay" pays tribute to our heritage and refers to the clay-dominated soils that characterize the Carneros region and contribute to this wine's concentration and complexity. |

Chandon is best known as one of America’s top sparkling wineries. Less known is Domaine Chandon also produces limited quantities of varietal still wines from our estate vineyards. These wines are crafted by drawing on experience with the traditional Champagne varietals and by showcasing select parcels from its Carneros ranch, where Chandon was among the pioneering growers and vintners of the region.<br /><br />TASTING NOTES<br />Aromas of white peach, honey pear and jasmine lead to tropical fruit flavors on the palate. This Chardonnay has exceptional balance with a long, round finish that has just the right amount of oak influence.<br /><br />FOOD PAIRING<br />Nearly any type of fish, from Petrale sole spritzed with fresh lemon juice to seared halibut will be a complementary partner to this wine. Chinese chicken salad, sautéed eggplant with soy sauce and hummus with toasted pita are all delicious food choices as well.<br /><br />SERVING AND AGING<br />Our Musqué Clone 809 Chardonnay is best when chilled just slightly below room temperature. Colder temperatures will mute the aromas. It is a wine that can be enjoyed young or with five to seven years of bottle age. |

Most of Chandon’s sparkling wines are blended, non-vintage wines, designed to reflect a consistent style year to year. With this Vintage Appellation Series, we choose to create distinctive wines to showcase the unique qualities of a particular growing season from each of our vineyard appellations: Yountville, Mt. Veeder and Carneros. With this release of 2007 Vintage Brut we showcase the fruit grown here in Yountville, the location of Domaine Chandon Winery.<br /> <br /> A relatively cold winter with several deep frosts combined with lower than normal rainfall contributed to a light crop in 2007. Grape clusters weighed less than average and had uneven berry sizing. The summer and fall temperatures were moderately cool until a heat spike in late August and early September caused the smaller clusters of grapes to ripen quickly to the point of maturity for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Lower crop yields and smaller berries have resulted in finished wines that have excellent structure, intensity and concentration of flavors. |

Tasting Notes
Complex aromas are again layered in this vintage with warm notes of baking spice, cola and salted caramel greeting the nose. A distinctively rich and creamy mouthfeel combine with good acidity and leads to a lingering finish that reveals apple and pear flavors and hints of yeast on the palate.
Food Pairing
The full-bodied structure and elegant balance in the wine make it a versatile option for a variety of foods. Classic dishes from Caesar salad, grilled chicken and sweet or savory tarts to the unique flavors in lamb tartare and grilled tempura would showcase the excellent range and complexity of this wine. |

The Reserve Brut is a blend of some of the finest fruit from our vineyards. It's created in a slightly robust and complex style that offers weight and dimension to the palate. In the blending process, our winemakers favor the classic combination of two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay. For additional richness and complexity, small amounts of older Reserves are added. The wine then ages for a minimum of three years, a serious commitment to the traditional methods of our French heritage and to crafting world class wine. |
